Following the release of the Winterland EP in December, a brand new album is set for release later this month.
VOLCANOES will be available to buy and stream from Friday 23rd February, with a limited CD run also on sale the same day.
Featuring 11 tracks, the album follows the eclectic pattern set by its predecessor Lift – folky hummers, piano tinklers, bluesy stompers and retro rockers all co-exist, cheek-by-jowl, within the crater…with some strings, synth and brass thrown in for good measure.
I’m delighted to say the album also benefits from guest appearances by both Alan R Davison and Gecko 3 frontman, Martin Philip, who sing on Battle Lines, on the Sun Studios-inspired Whole Heap of Trouble and on Requiem. The latter uses the Robert Louis Stevenson poem of the same name (along with the words on Stevenson’s tomb in Samoa) as its lyric, and is the track which closes the album.
To launch the album I’ll be playing a special house concert in South London on 22nd February alongside Fara.
