I’m returning to London to play live at The Green Note, Camden, on Monday 22nd April.
I’m delighted to say I’ll be opening for the excellent Adam Holmes and the Embers. I played alongside Adam in Biggar last year and it was a great night, so we’re really looking forward to this one. Tickets are available now from: www.greennote.co.uk
I’ll be playing a set on the Danny Kyle Stage at Celtic Connections Festival on Saturday 26th January. The gig is in the Exhibition Hall at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, entry is free and it begins at 5pm.
Hello and a Happy New Year to you all.
Thanks to everyone who listened to the 12 Downloads of Christmas, or watched the Winterland and On Christmas Days over the Festive period. Your support is, as always, much appreciated.
I’m also grateful to all the broadcasters and podcasters out there who aired my music during 2018, particularly to Jim Gellatly of Amazing Radio, Iain Anderson of BBC Radio Scotland and to Keith Easton and Caroline Gilmour on The Cake Show – all of whom have given me a lot of support over the years.
This year is set to be another busy one, with a series of gigs in the planning – more details to follow.
Meanwhile, if you missed my December appearance on The Cake Show it’s not too late to listen in. Click on the link below to hear some chat about songwriting, filming, my work with The Sorries and (of course) festive TV viewing. Oh, there’s a couple of live cover versions in there too…
A Happy & Peaceful Christmas, all.
Douglas appeared on The Cake Show this week, where he joined regular hosts Keith Easton and Caroline Gilmour for their Christmas special. He took his guitar along and did a couple of Christmas covers – one from the contemporary canon and another a crooners’ favourite!
You can listen again to the show (which goes out regularly on Tuesdays at 9pm) HERE.
Douglas is also set to be featured THIS SUNDAY (23rd December) on Jim Gellatly’s Amazing Radio show. Tune in live from 2pm or listen again from Monday at www.amazingradio.com/shows/jimgellatly
After a fallow December in 2017 – when amongst other things I was finishing the Winterland EP and Volcanoes – the 12 Downloads of Christmas return in full festive form for Christmas 2018.
First appearing in 2011, the 12 Downloads sees a rare DK track – a live recording, cover, remix or newbie – posted on each of the 12 days leading up to Christmas. This aural (half) advent calendar, is available for you to stream until New Year or, better still, for you to download and keep for free!
The first of the 12 songs for this year was recorded at the Volcanoes album launch in February, and is the title track of that album. You can hear that song and the others, as they’re posted, by clicking below:
The 12 songs will be posted on the Douglas Kay Soundcloud page and you can access the tracks as soon as they’re posted by clicking HERE.
The Winterland EP is available now – see below for links to different listening formats and for the official video, filmed in a very festive-looking (and cold) Edinburgh.
