Another Edinburgh gig coming up, when I return to Bar Brig on Leith Walk for an afternoon set on Sunday 17th November. When I played there a couple of months ago it was a lovely, intimate gig so really looking forward to this one. I’ll be on about 3.30pm and entry is free.

Edinburgh Fringe – thank you!
Thanks to everyone who came along to the A Songwriters’ Circle presents… show at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe on the 2nd August. I had a great time playing alongside my old friend and collaborator Alan R Davison, and it was lovely to air some songs we hadn’t played together for years, as well as some new ones which we’ve never attempted before.
Who knows, there could be more duo gigs in the offing – watch this space…

Douglas returns to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August with a special A Songwriters’ Circle Presents… show.

Tickets for the show – at 5.30pm on Friday 2nd August – are available from the Edinburgh Fringe website.

Graeme Easton’s Playlist Live – Wed 12th June
I’m delighted to be appearing at a very special live recording of Graeme Easton’s Playlist podcast, at Edinburgh’s Traverse Theatre on Wednesday 12th June.
Graeme’s special guests for the live recording of the podcast – which features famous figures from the world of sport choosing their favourite songs – are Stuart Cosgrove and Tam Cowan. Stuart and Tam are presenters of BBC Radio Scotland’s long-running show, Off The Ball, but as we’ll no doubt hear on the night that’s just one shared string to their bows.
As for me, I’ll be there to recreate some of their song choices live and offer some – ahem – “insightful” notes about the songs.
There are still some tickets available – see the link below:
Martin Guitar Night
A lot of fun at The Mercat in Edinburgh last Wednesday, as Martin Guitars hosted their Takeover Open night. A great singalong…complete with unusual facial expressions from yours truly.
Live
A couple of live dates coming up this week as I head to London to play The Green Note, Camden, on Monday 22nd April, and then play a short set at The Mercat in Edinburgh on Wed 24th.
The London date sees me opening for Adam Holmes and the Embers (tickets from www.greennote.co.uk) while the Edinburgh set is part of a Martin Guitars showcase.
There are also details of a special show at this year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe coming soon, so stay tuned…
